Whether you are quarantining in your home due to COVID-19 or simply don’t have the time or opportunity to come into our offices, The Traini Counseling Group is excited to offer online therapy to residents of Michigan.
Teletherapy, also known as online therapy or online counseling, is the same as in-person therapy, only held over the phone or on your computer. Here are just a few benefits of online counseling:
- Some may find it easier to share personal or uncomfortable details about themselves online instead of in-person
- If you have a disability that makes it difficult to leave home, you no longer have to worry
- For those that live in rural areas, online therapy may be the better option vs. driving long way to find healthcare
How Do I Know if Online Therapy is Right for Me?
Online therapy is great for both children and adults who feel safer at home, especially during this uncertain time of coronavirus and shutdowns. Teletherapy is especially important for those of us who may feel disconnected or isolated, even when surrounded by family. While we adjust to new “normals,” it’s important to keep tabs on our mental health and take advantage of the extra support and guidance online therapy can provide.
Teletherapy is also a great option for those that are restricted to their home due to illness or disabilities, and for those who live far away from mental healthcare resources. Teletherapy is also great for those who have busy schedules or simply feel more comfortable “opening themselves up” from home.
There are a few situations where online therapy may not be the best option for you or your child. If you or your child struggle with severe psychological issues such as schizophrenia, bipolarism, suicidal thoughts, etc., you may find more benefit in more intensive, in-person care.
How Does The Traini Counseling Group Approach Teletherapy?
Just like our in-person, individual therapy, our therapists are dedicated to helping you identify your issues and help you to build coping strategies to lead a fulfilling and happy life. The only difference is we see you through a screen!

How Does Teletherapy Work?
Easy! Just schedule an appointment with us and we’ll send you detailed instructions on how to connect with us when it’s time for your appointment.
Like our other therapy sessions, we will match you with a therapist we feel fits you best or you are welcome to read about our team here and let us know who you would prefer. Like normal, online therapy is typically on a weekly basis and sessions are usually 45 to 60 minutes in length. Together we’ll create treatment goals, create a rough timeline for these goals and build work to help lead a more fulfilling life.
