Jaquina Snowden, LLMSW

Therapy has always been my heart and passion for many years, because it allows me the opportunity to help people have a great quality of life, by helping them to address and maintain their mental health through various treatments.

Our mental health is very essential as it affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and how we make healthy choices throughout our lifespan. It is also good to know that mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood to adolescence throughout adulthood.

I have had experience collaborating with professionals on multidisciplinary teams in various settings and working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. I have experience working with a variety of issues, including trauma, depression, anxiety, behavioral difficulties and grief and
loss. When it comes to the various treatments, I have utilized Psychodynamic theory, Family Systems Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Therapy, Person Centered Therapy and a Strength Base Approach to help guide my practice when working with my clients, as I am a strong believer of power when it comes to establishing and building a therapeutic relationship.

I value the importance of creating a healthy strong rapport with my clients as I support clients finding a therapist, he/she feel is a great fit for them when it comes to creating their individual treatment needs and goals. With that being said, my overall focus throughout the client’s treatment is to assist my clients in being able to find their value and meaning in life and in themselves, while being empowered, encouraged, and supported through that process of
engagement through therapy. I look forward to meeting you and developing that healthy client, therapist relationship to help empower and motivate you to become the best you that you can be!
